Hey There, Internet

Hey there Internet. My name is Josh Thunder, and I'm here because I was kindly invited by Jamie of The Jamies (the best all-girl rock band since The Shaggs) to update all of Astoria and beyond about things like music and my feelings. I haven't done the blog thing since Livejournal was overrun by Russian emo girls so if there's a lot of nervous energy before I get comfortable doing this, that's because there is.

I play in a band called Thunderbang!. We play exciting adventure music. Some of our songs are still up on that vestigial internet ghetto called Myspace, so if you want to hear a few of our tunes that aren't on our Facebook page, that's where you can go.

Jamie specifically asked that I talk about music. She suggested that I post weekly about music and bands I like, even though I feel like I'm always somewhat behind what the really cool people at pitchfork originally give a 7.6 to and then declare a masterpiece ten years later. Nevertheless I'll try to find things new and original or old and boring that get me made fun of when I play them at the gym (as if Kate Bush and Tom Waits are the only reasons people make fun of me at the gym).

In conclusion, I am now a blogger. I wield tremendous power and influence and if you disagree with me you will never work in this town again...
