PROJECT PASSION: INSTRUMENT & ART GIVEAWAY TO BENEFIT LOCAL MUSIC PROGRAMS IN ASTORIA
Three non-profit organizations “Emerging Artists Connect,” “Boundless Quest,” and “Astoria Music & Arts” will join forces to raise awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education by hosting a FREE benefit concert on the main lawn in Astoria Park. Attendees will be encouraged to donate their old instruments to a well deserving non-profit music school named “Art House Astoria” that offers music classes at a low rate for families and people of all ages. This marks the first annual benefit of “Project Passion”. There will be performances by many local NYC bands such as: Abe And The Beards, The Koyas, Bliminal, LTrain, ThunderBang, , & A Docile Tariq. There will also be fun relay races for children to play on the main lawn during performances to win custom guitars designed by local NYC artists that are part of the Emerging Artists Connect Coalition.
The three aforementioned non-profits have selected “Art House Astoria” to be the beneficiary of all donated instruments and art materials. Art House Astoria Conservatory for Music and Art is a non-profit corporation founded in 2009 with a mission to provide quality arts programs for the Astoria community at an affordable price.
